While working at a nanotechnology company focused on water purification in the UK, Alex Totterman, Cove’s Founder & CEO discovered how difficult it was to remove microplastics from water.
To reduce the plastic pollution that inevitably breaks down into microplastics, Alex first sought to decrease the use of plastic water bottles by launching a home water filtration system. He quickly realized the need for a more all encompassing solution. After intensive research into alternative materials, Alex founded Cove in 2018.
